Explore The Kitsilano Neighbourhood

Every day offers a host of things to do in Kitsilano. You can always make time to do a little shopping or meet a friend at a trendy eatery on Broadway, West 4th or Cornwall Aves, especially when all those destinations are within a 20-minute walk from your apartment door. Kits is a bike-oriented neighbourhood with designated bike lanes helping make your travel on two wheels safer, easier and faster. Plus, you are about one block from the Arbutus Greenway, a few miles walk/run/bike trail from Kerrisdale to Burrard and 6th Avenue, open year-round.

Parks

There are tiny hidden park gems dotted all over your neighbourhood, but the main draws are Kits Point, Kitsilano pool and plenty of grassy areas to stroll, picnic or play. You've got basketball courts, summer volleyball nets, Hadden Beach, Teatotaler Beach and Vanier Park, with a walking path connecting it all together.

Restaurants

You can walk, bike or transit to all the best restaurants in Kitsilano, including The Boathouse at Kits Beach or the West 4th classic, Sophie's Cosmic Cafe. Local pubs and coffee houses are everywhere you turn so you'll never go hungry or caffeine-less.

Transportation

Catch a bus along West 4th, or walk a block to Burrard Street and hop on transit there. UBC is a straight-shot down West 4th by bike or car/transit. Broadway Ave, a major transit thoroughfare, is just two blocks south, and there are bike lanes aplenty all over Kits and into the Downtown core. The Arbutus Greenway is also just a block away!

Shopping

Say hello to West 4th Avenue! It's the retail hotspot outside of the Downtown core, with endless brand names to add to your closet or spruce up your living space. You're just three blocks away so walking and shopping could not be more convenient.

Schools

Lord Tennyson Elementary is a nice 10-minute walk from Reid Manor, and Kitsilano Secondary is just a smidge longer – about 20 minutes by foot. Both are easily accessible via public transit. There are also several private schools in close proximity.

Entertainment

Every summer, Vanier Park plays host to one of Vancouver's most anticipated annual events, Bard on the Beach. They set up their theatre tents not far from the Museum of Vancouver and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre. The local farmers' market sets up every May through October at the Kitsilano Community Centre, and includes live music and entertainment. And, of course, Kits Beach is home to the annual Honda Celebration of Lights, an international fireworks battle between several nations.
